You may apply for a Youth Mobility Scheme visa if you meet the following criteria:
If you wish to live and work in the UK for up to two years, you must be between the ages of 18 and 30, have at least £2,530 in savings, possess certain types of British nationality, or be from specific countries or territories, and meet all other qualifying conditions.
How much time it takes
A visa application can be made up to six months before departure. You may apply beginning on January 16 if your travel date is July 15. You will be required to verify your identity and provide supporting documentation as part of your application. Allow additional time if you require an appointment to complete this. You’ll discover whether you require one when you begin your application.
Getting decision
After you apply online, verify your identity, and submit your documents, you should receive a decision on your visa within three weeks.

How long can you stay?
You’ll be granted a visa that allows you to live and work in the United Kingdom for up to 24 months. You may enter the UK at any time throughout the validity of your visa and may depart and return at any point during your stay.
You can apply for a Youth Mobility Scheme visa if you are between the ages of 18 and 30 and are from one of the following countries:
- Australia and Canada
- Monaco
- New Zealand.
- Saint-Marin
You must be selected in the Youth Mobility Scheme poll before applying for your visa if you are from one of the following countries:
- Japan
- South Korea
- Taiwanese
Additionally, you must be between the ages of 18 and 30 on the date you apply for your visa.
You may also apply if you are between the ages of 18 and 30 and have:
- A British national living abroad
- British citizens of the British Overseas Territories
- British citizen (overseas)
You are ineligible to apply if you have:
- Children under the age of 18 who live with you Children for whom you are financially responsible who have previously arrived in the UK under the plan
- You must have a minimum balance of £2,530 in your bank account to demonstrate your ability to support yourself in the UK.
- You must have had the funds available for at least 28 consecutive days. Day 28 must occur within 31 days after submitting an application for this visa.

Required documents
When you apply, you must include the following information:
- A current passport or other government-issued identification document proving your identity and nationality
- A bank statement demonstrating that you have at least £2,530 in savings, as well as the results of your tuberculosis (TB) test, if you live in a country that requires the test.
- A blank page in your passport is required for your visa.
